Scope of Work
GR Engineering has recently been awarded the engineering, design, procurement, construction and commissioning of an upgrade to the existing Deflector Copper Gold project we carried out a little over 4 years ago.
The scope of work comprises the design, supply, fabrication, installation, commissioning and handover of the Deflector Tails Leach Project (DTLP) for Silver Lake (Deflector) Pty Ltd.
In summary the DTLP works involves an upgrade to the existing Deflector Concentrator to include a Carbon in Leach (CIL) circuit on the existing Deflector copper ores to be co-treated with ore sourced from the recently acquired Rothsay Project via the upgraded process as detailed below.
The upgrade works includes:
- Pre-leach thickening of flotation tails;
- Regrinding of flotation tails in a ball mill;
- Centrifugal gravity concentrators, with intensive cyanidation of the gravity concentrate incorporated into the regrind circuit;
- Leaching and adsorption circuit;
- Recovery of loaded carbon, elution and electrowinning of gold and silver from pregnant eluate;
- Smelting dore bullion;
- Reagents facilities.
The above plant upgrade is to be carried out using a combination of both new equipment and some of the existing assets from the Andy Well gold processing plant, another previous GR Engineering project completed approximately 7 years ago and also owned by Silver Lake however no longer in operation.
Onsite activities are scheduled to commence at the Deflector site around early October after Silver Lake receive their works approval. With the Andy Well dismantling of structures and removal of equipment planned to get underway in mid-October. GR Engineering plan to be established on site at Deflector by the time we are ready to transport the Andy Well items to Deflector and therefore should be in a position to continue with enough work fronts to keep the small Andy Well SMP crew busy.
At this stage the GR Engineering DLTP engineering team have been concentrating their efforts on the procurement of long lead equipment, the finalisation of an agreed overall site layout and the commencement of bulk earthworks and civil drawings.
The first photo below indicates the area within the existing Deflector operations where the upgraded facilities will be installed. The allocated area below requires the existing tails line to be temporarily relocated prior to the bulk earthworks commencing.
The second photo shows the Andy Well ball mill and gravity structure which is some of the Andy Well equipment to be relocated to Deflector.
