GR Engineering Services is pleased to announce that the Cosmic Boy Concentrator achieved practical completion on 8 February 2009. In an announcement made by the Western Areas Managing Director Mr. Julian Hanna on 16 February 2009 he stated that “the Cosmic Boy plant had been built on time and on budget. This is a credit to all the people from GR Engineering Services and Western Areas who had been involved in the project”.
This is an outstanding effort by the GRES project team to complete the project in an extremely tight schedule and congratulations to Geoff Tanner, Rod Schier, Richard Perrett, Mahesan Namasivayam, Ian Mccaig, Dave Zeller, Gerry Neeling and the entire design and construction team for their efforts.
Western Areas are looking to perform a major expansion of the nickel contractor in the June quarter of 2009 and GRES are currently completing scoping studies for the expansion.
