GR Engineering Services were today awarded a fast track project for the upgrade of the Cosmos Nickel concentrator to lift throughput from around 240,000 tonnes per year to 460,000 tonnes per year.
The upgrade will include the refurbishment and installation of a secondary ball mill and significant upgrade and modification to the flotation circuit at Cosmos. Pumping, reagent and sampling systems will also be upgraded to handle the higher throughput. The project works are scheduled to be completed by the end of March 2011.
